Abstract

1,033,062. Fluid-pressure blasting devices. H. BEUKENBERG, H. BEUKENBERG and K. BEUKENBERG, [trading as MASCHINENFABRIK GLUCKAUF GUNTHER KLERNER]. Jan. 25, 1963 [Jan. 26, 1962], No. 3287/63. Heading F3A. A blasting device comprises an impregnating pipe formed as a jacket 14a on an air supply pipe 1 closed by a rupturable member 3, the inlet of the air supply pipe carrying a small high-pressure air container 9 provided with a throttled air inlet 12 connected to a highpressure line from a compressed-air generator. The impregnating pipe expands on entry of water via the connection 23 and so clamps the pipe in the bore hole, the front end of the pipe being closed by an adjustable screw cap 15 forming a ring nozzle 16 through which water is delivered at the desired pressure. The rear end of the jacket 14a is mounted in a metal sleeve 21 which is displaceably arranged on the pipe 1. A head 2 screwed on the air supply pipe 1 contains a piston 4 covering air outlets 5 and abutting against a rupturable member 3, the end of the head 2 being closed by a screw cap 6. In a modification, the end of the head 2 has a bore guiding an extension of the piston, which extension abuts a rupturable member. The cylindrical high-pressure air container 9 with heavy end covers 10, 11 is positioned outside the bore hole and is rigidly connected by a screw joint to the air supply pipe 1, the air outlet 1a being of considerably larger section than the air inlet 12. The container 9 is connected at 13 to a high pressure line which has several connecting points, each with a closure member, so that several apparatuses may be operated from the same generator.
