Abstract

1,077,245. Spray - producers. O. FAHR. May 21, 1965 [May 23, 1964], No. 21675/65. Heading B2F. Spray apparatus suitable for descaling rolled or forged stock comprises a nozzle casing 3 provided with an end plate 1 formed with an outlet orifice, a piston-shaped valve member 2 located within the casing, a pressurized water supply conduit 5 adapted to feed water into the casing via an inlet 4 so as to act against a surface 2" of the valve member 2 and force it away from the outlet orifice, and a conduit system 8, 8' arranged on rotation of a valve 6 to allow the pressurized water supply to act on the larger surface 2' of the valve member. In the operative spray position the conduit 8' is connected to the atmosphere via a throttling valve 11 which damps the movement of the valve member. A plurality of nozzles may be operated by a photo-electric device according to the width of the work to be sprayed.
