[Class 60] In a sand-blast gun a rigid pipe 11 secured to the body 1 of the gun substantially at right angles to the longitudinal axis thereof and in communication with the compressed-air injector tube 7 carried by the rear face of said body is adapted to be used as a handle, a flexible hose 22 being connected to said rigid tube 11 for supplying compressed air thereto, and a cock 12 for controlling the feed of compressed air being arranged between said pipe and hose. The cock is operated by a wheel 16 which can be rubbed against the work or against the palm of the operator's other hand. A nozzle neck 4 with a convergent bore and an outlet nozzle 6 are fixed by a nut 3 at the front of the metal gun body 1; the internal diameter of the nozzle is greater than the diameter of the outlet end of the neck. An injector tube 7, having an internal cross-sectional area of the order of one-third to one-half of the internal cross-section are of the nozzle 6, is carried by the head 2 of the gun body, its bore communicating with the tube 11. The head 2 also carries abrasive supply tubes 24 provided with one or more holes 25, the opening of which can be controlled by slidable or rotary sleeves 26. Each tube 24 is connected by a flexible pipe 27 to a metal tube 28 having a tubular extension 29, the tube and extension being connected by the tapped end of a sleeve 30 having air inlets 31. Into sleeve 30 is screwed a tube 33 having holes 35 registering to an adjustable degree with the air inlets 31. The tube 33 terminates in a number of divergent tongues 37 to prevent blocking of the inlet of extension 29 by the ground or a wall. Alternatively, the extension 29 is secured to the bottom of a hopper. Instead of holes 25 in the tubes 24, an air inlet 47 in the head 2 is controlled by a shutter 48, Fig. 4.
