Abstract
1,032,905. Crank - shafts. SULZER BROTHERS Ltd. Feb. 16, 1965 [Feb. 25, 1964], No. 6647/65. Heading F2U. The main journals 1 and crankpins 2 joined by circular webs 3 of a multi-cylinder diesel engine crank-shaft are formed with through bores 4, 5 connected by transverse bores 6 in the webs 3, the ends of the bores being sealed by closure members 10, 11 having elastomeric " O "-ring oil sealing elements 14 and axially retained by tubular members 17 which are screwed into the bores 6 and extend through holes 15 in the members 10, 11, the tubular elements interconnecting the bores 4, 5 of the journals 1 and crankpins 2 for the supply of lubricating oil therebetween. Each closure element 10 in the outer ends of the crank-shaft is located and retained by a spacer 24 and circlip 23.
