Abstract

1,032,517. Hinges. MECCANO Ltd. March 8, 1963, No. 9433/63. Heading E2F. A door hinge arrangement for toy vehicles comprises a hinge member 2 secured to the door 1, a leaf spring 4 for urging the hinge member 2 into engagement with a bearing edge 3a formed in the opening in the body of the vehicle for receiving the door member, the hinge member being so shaped that when the door member is moved either to the open or closed positions it moves away or towards the bearing edge 3a. The hinge member includes a curved surface 7 joining the door member 1 at a groove 6 and a nose portion 2a joining the curved portion at a groove 2b, whereby when the door is in the open position the edge 3a locates in groove 2b, and in the closed position it locates in groove 6. The leaf spring 4 is supported between ribs 5 on the body member.
