Abstract
1,029,117. Furniture joints; cabinets. P. WINKEL. June 30, 1964 [July 1, 1963], No. 26896/64. Headings A4B and A4H. A cabinet framework comprises front and back sub-assemblies 23-31 (Fig. 6) joined by corner members 32 and each consisting of four channel section members, two of which have flanges extending through slots in the flanges and webs of the other two. Alternative forms of joints, as shown in Fig. 3, comprise a single flange 18 engaged in the web 15 and both flanges 16, a pair of flanges 13 engaged in the web 15 and both flanges 16, a pair of flanges 16 engaged in a web 19 and both flanges 20, and a pair of flanges 16 engaged in a web 21, and a single flange 22. The cabinet framework (Fig. 6) includes channel section uprights 26 joined by horizontal channels 23 with flanges and webs interengaging as described, the members 23, 26 being secured together, e.g. by welding or screws. A partitioned row of cabinets may be constructed (Fig. 7, not shown) with detachable grid or plain front panels or with hinged doors.
