Abstract

1,028,123. Priming cartridges. DYNAMIT NOBEL A.G. Jan. 1, 1963 [Jan. 2, 1962], No. 146/63. Heading F3A. The case of a priming cartridge for a recoilless gun in which the priming charge is covered by an inner cap 3, the space between this cap 3 and a metal plug 1 sealing the mouth of the case being filled with grease 4, has a zone 5 of reduced thickness, the ratio of the thickness in the zone 5 to that of the lower portion 2 being in the range 1 : 1À5 to 1 : 5. The weakened case wall may be produced by reducing the thickness of the wall in the zone 5 or by inserting into the case a metal tube 6 to reinforce the lower portion of the wall. The plug 1 may have a frusto-conical base portion and the casing may be swaged on to the plug 1.
