Abstract

1,196,480. Cartridge cases. GIULIO FIOCCHI S.p.A. 21 Sspt., 1967 [21 Sept., 1966], No. 42973/67. Heading F3A. A shotgun cartridge comprises a cylindrical body 1, e.g. of cardboard or plastics material closed at one end by a metal base 2, and a synthetic plastics member 4 having a cup 9 for an explosive charge, a main part 5 provided with a bore 3 for a priming device, and at least one circumferential notch 11 which provides a damping effect at the instant of firing. The extreme edge 10 of the cup is nominally of greater diameter than the body part 5 but is deformed inwardly to give a tight fit in the cylindrical body 1.
