Abstract

1,021,689. Gyratory-piston pumps and motors. FRANK DAHLBERG A.B. May 9, 1963 [May 11, 1962], No. 18453/63. Heading F1F. A rotary pump, or motor, of the gyratorypiston type comprises a piston 2 (Fig. 2, not shown) lodged in a cylindrical chamber 5 in a casing 1, the end of a shaft 3 being provided with an integral radial projection or lug 9 which engages with a cylindrical bore 10 in the piston. Clearance is provided between the shaft and the bore such that when the pump is in operation the lug abuts the wall of the bore at a point lying in a radial plane containing the central axis of the shaft and angularly displaced from a similar plane in which the piston makes contact with the wall of the cylindrical chamber. A partition 7 is slidably housed in a slot 8 formed in the casing and its radially innermost end engages with a recess 4 in the piston. A fluidinlet duct 11 and a fluid-outlet duct 12 are disposed on either side of the partition. The partition may be made of flexible material e.g. synthetic rubber and the other parts of the pump may be made of synthetic resin material e.g. actual resin. The shaft may be rotatable and the casing stationary, or the shaft may be fixed and the casing rotatable.
