Abstract

The sealing system includes a radial sealing segment, lodged in the stator inside a groove parallel to the machine's axis and pressed against the rotor by means of springs. The segment may be disassembled through an opening in the stator and its base is fitted into a slot of a segment carrying part placed within a groove which is also parallel to the axis and has a stop on one of its ends to prevent longitudinal displacements of the segment. Stops in the segment-carrier prevent axial displacements of the segments towards the stator. Stops on the carrier and segment also limit radial movement of the segment.
