Abstract

1,177,291. Rotory pumps. J. DELSUC. March 20, 1967 [March 23, 1966], No.12943/67. Heading F1F. A rotory pump of the gyratory-piston type comprises an annular recess 6 formed in a portion 4 of a casing 1 and containing a piston that is constituted by an annular flange 13 on a flat circular plate 12, an inlet port 10 being provided in the innermost wall of said recess on one side of a fixed radial partition 9, and outlet ports constituted by an aperture 18 and a notch 19 being situated in said plate on the other side of said partition and shaped such that they are suitably controlled by the portion 4 when the piston gyrates, Fig.4a to 4f (not shown). The outlet ports communicate with an outlet chamber 8, the plate 12 being pressed against the portion 4 by the fluid in said chamber and a compression spring 28 circumjacent on outlet channel 3b. An inlet channel 3a communicates with the port 10 through a bore 2 containing a flexible sleeve 30, which is made of e.g. rubber, and shrouds a rotatable driving-shaft 22. A hub 15 engages with a sleeve 20 that is attached to the sleeve 30 and has a flat stud 20a thereon engaging with a diametral slot 17 between two part cylindrical members 16a, 16b on the plate 12, which members engage with the spring 28. The sleeve 20 is supported by needle rollers 24 on a a spring-braded bush 21 that is mounted eccentrically upon the shaft 22. Mechanism (not shown in the drawings) prevents rotation of the sleeve 20 and the piston about their own axes in response to rotation of the said shaft. The sleeve 30 contains lubricating oil, which is prevented from escaping through a bearing 26 by a seal 27.
