1469549 Rotary positive-displacement fluid-machines GENERAL ELECTRIC CO 4 June 1974 [25 June 1973] 24675/74 Heading F1F In a refrigerant compressor a proportion of liquid lubricant e.g. oil, in suspension in the refrigerant forms a film on a surface 68 so that while the compressor operates a suction-valve-member 64 is held above a seat 60, by said film, to prevent it chattering. The member 64 may be a ball which is retained in a cavity 44 by a part-cylindrical body 70 engaging with slots 80. The compressor may comprise a rotor 20 mounted on an eccentric 22 and engaging with a vane 34 in a fixed housing 18, the eccentric being driven by an electric motor (26), Fig. 1 (not shown). A discharge chamber 48 contains a non-return valve 50.
