Boxes made from special blanks; boxcs of skeleton formation; fittings, internal.-A box for an electric lamp, egg, bottle, or other fragile article is formed from a blank shaped and scored as shown in Fig. 1, which may have apertures a<8>, b<6>, c<@> to reduce its weight. The end tongues a', b<1> are folded on the lines 2, the body c is then folded and secured by a flap d, and the tongues b<1> are then folded on the line 1 and secured in the positiun shown in Fig. 2. The article is inserted, and the tongues a<1> are folded on the line 1 and secured in the position shown in Fig. 3. The tongues may be adapted to fold at points 3, Fig. 10, in which case the box is held closed without fastening means; or the opposite tongues a<1>, b<1> may be secured together by slots a<2>, b<2>, Fig. 11, or other means. The tongues may be arranged in staggered formation, as shown in Fig. 6, and projections b<3> may be provided to interlock with slots a<3>. The main tongues may be provided with cutcut secondary tongues a<5>, Fig. 16, held in the position shown by engagement with notches, and may be made more yielding by slits b<5>.
