Abstract

1,019,210. Transformers and inductors. MATERIEL ELECTRIQUE S.W. Dec. 9, 1964 [Dec. 20, 1963], No. 50095/64. Heading H1T A transformer or reactor having its H.T. and L.T. pancake coils 1, 5 (Fig. 2) insulated by sheets separated by gaps for insulating and cooling liquid, is provided with a main electrostatic screening member 2 and a subsidiary curved screening member 9 both connected to the H.T. line coil 3. The screening member 9 (Fig. 3, not shown) is placed in the zone where the cooling liquid enters the gap between screen 2 and coil 3. It may be a solid high resistivity, metal member with a metal layer thereon and an insulating covering or it may be a flat insulating member with conductors at its ends and metal sheets covering its flat surfaces (Figs. 4a and 5b, not shown). It may alternatively be formed by bending the end of screen 2.
