Abstract
1,015,581. Blowing lances; burners. BOT BRASSERT OXYGEN TECHNIK A.G. Oct. 24, 1962 [Oct. 27, 1961], No. 40307/62. Headings F4B and F4T. A burner and blowing lance comprises a central oxygen supply tube 1, a coaxial liquid or gaseous fuel supply tube 4 surrounding the tube 1, and an outer coaxial oxygen supply tube 8 surrounding the fuel supply tube 4. The inner oxygen tube 1 terminates in a convergentdivergent nozzle, and the annular outlet of the fuel supply tube is closed by an insert 6 which has bores or slots. The outer oxygen tube 8 is surrounded by a water jacket, and extends beyond the ends of the inner oxygen and fuel tubes. The bores in the insert 6 may be arranged to open into the outer oxygen tube 8. When gas is used as fuel, the bores in the insert 6 are replaced by slots 14, Fig. 6 (not shown). Independently adjustable valves may be provided for the three supply passages.
