A blowing lance, particularly for refining metals, comprises three coaxial waterjackets 6, 7, 1, the outer jackets 6, 7 enclosing an annular passage 8 for injecting oxygen into the melt and terminating in a ring of nozzles 9, and the inner jacket 1 sliding on bearers 14 within the intermediate jacket 7 to form a second passage for injection terminating at an adjustable distance beyond the nozzles 9.
