Abstract

<PICT:1010263/C6-C7/1> Spherical particles of refractory materials, e.g. thorium and uranium carbides, are formed by feeding rough particles from a supply 2a through a plasma generator 4 (see Division H5) and allowing the molten particles to fall through a cooling column, Fig. 3 (not shown), into a bath of cooling oil.ALSO:Spherical particles of thorium or uranium carbides are formed by feeding rough particles through a plasma generator 4 (see Division H5) and allowing the molten particles to fall through a cooling column into a bath of cooling oil.
