Abstract

1,014,759. Jet pulverizers. FARBWERKE HOECHST A.G. Oct. 22, 1962 [Oct. 20, 1961], No. 39945/62. Heading B2A. A process for pneumatically grinding granular, gritty or coarsely powdered dry substances is characterized in that linings of rubber or synthetic elastic material which are disposed on the inner sides of the mill covers are kept in continuous rhythmical motion during the grinding process with the aid of compressed gas which is periodically introduced and discharged through pipes. In the jet mill shown, linings 7, 8 secured to the covers 5, 6 e.g. by adhesive, are provided with annular channels 9 connected one to another by channels 10. Compressed air is periodically introduced and discharged at 11, 12. The mill covers may alternatively be provided with flat elastic bodies of rubber or a synthetic material containing hollow spaces which may be of different dimensions and may all or in part be connected one to another by channels.
