Abstract
858,289. Granulating-machines. FAKBENFABRIKEN BAYER A.G. April 12, 1957 [April 19, 1956 ; Nov. 6, 1956], No. 12090/57. Class 87(2). Granules are formed from a fine powder by feeding the powder from a hopper 1 through an adjustable outlet onto a vibrating screen 2, having balls 2a or rotating brushes to break up lamps. The material falls onto a screen 3 and granules formed on the screen 3 trickle off onto a conveyer 6 and are fed with the fines, which fall through the screen into a hopper 5, to a fluidised bed chamber 7 to which air is supplied through orifices 8. The granules are withdrawn through a hopper 10. In a modification, Fig. 2, the powder is first compressed between double belts 12 to form small plate-like structures.
