967,140. Pneumatic separation. G. SPOHR. Jan. 7, 1963 [March 7, 1962], No. 630/63. Heading B2H. Apparatus for pneumatically cleaning grain &c. has two or more inclined screens 16, 17 so arranged one above the other with intervening deflectors 18 that the airstream from a blower 14 is directed partly around and partly through the screens to a discharge 13 at the level of the upper screen. The material to be cleaned is fed through a hopper 11 controlled by a slide 12 and acted upon by air currents which sweep through the apparatus in the directions shown; the chaff is carried out through the outlet 13 by the air and the cleaned grain falls through the screens to a screwconveyer 19.
