Abstract

933,293. Pneumatic conveyers. AMALGAMATED ROADSTONE CORPORATION Ltd. March 30, 1962 [May 12, 1961], No. 17391/61. Class 78 (1). In a container 10, Fig. 1, adapted for discharge of granular &c. material by the introduction of fluidizing air through a porous screen 11, the air is fed through a perforated channel 19 or pipe extending under the porous screen 11 between the latter and the wall of the container. The channel 19 may comprise an angular or arcuate section strip of perforated metal bolted to the inner face of the container 10 and supplied with air at inlets 15. The perforations 20 may be irregularly spaced so that the quantity of air is reduced near the outlet regions. The porous screen comprises a layer of foam rubber sandwiched between perforated metal strips which are bolted to the container 10.
