Abstract

1,012,144. Suspended ceilings. COLOTEX Ltd. Dec. 13, 1961 [Sept. 22, 1960], No. 32646/60. Heading E1V. A suspension system for ceiling or wall panels includes a cross-member 10 inter-engaged with a co-operating support part 20, the crossmember having an end 16 projecting at right angles, the end having a recess formed therein and either the end or the co-operating part 20 providing resilient inter-engagement. As shown in Fig. 3 the end 16 of the cross-member is formed with a projection 17a defining below the projection a recess 40 and the end engages with the spring limbs 19 of the part 20. Alternatively as in Fig. 2 spring limbs 31, 32, 33 having recessses 34 are provided on the end of the cross-member and are for engagement with a support having a corresponding projection. The cross-member as shown is of T-section, the web 15 of which may be offcentre. Alternatively the cross-member may be of channel section. The panels are of asbestos.
