Abstract
1,008,232. Winding yarn. SPINNBAU G.m.b.H. Jan. 22, 1964 [Jan. 24, 1963], No. 2854/64. Heading D1J. A winding head for a tubular cop winding machine comprises a base 20. Figs. 3 and 4 supporting a plurality of upwardly and outwardly directed cop formers 7 so arranged that their axes, as measured upwardly, are inclined oppositely to the direction of motion A of the cop by an angle alpha, said axes being non-intersecting at their lower ends but being tangential to a common circle concentric with the base 20. The angle alpha can be varied. This arrangement is stated to prevent the tendancy of the yarn being wound to move towards the smaller diameter of the cop tip. Fig. 2 shows a tubular cop 19 being shaped by the formers 7. The yarn is stripped from the lap 4, passes a central bar 2, an eyelet 3, a guide rod 5 and a tightening finger 6. The holder 1 rotates at high speed to twist the yarn. A thread guide 8, of constant stroke, feeds the yarn on to the cop 19 between the formers 7. The conical cop base 11 is driven by the shaft 9 and the pressure on the yarn at the winding point is reduced by the suspended weights 17.
