Abstract
Description
TRAVERSE DE PAVILLON ADAPTEE A DIFFERENTES CONFIGURATIONS DE TOIT D'UN VEHICULE AUTOMOBILE. PAVILION TRAVERSE ADAPTED TO DIFFERENT ROOF CONFIGURATIONS OF A MOTOR VEHICLE.
The present invention relates to a roof cross member adapted to different roof configurations of a motor vehicle, that is to say a single crossmember that can be used without modification on a motor vehicle with normal roof, panoramic glass roof or roof opening.
Transom roof structures for a motor vehicle are already known from the prior art. Thus, the document FR 2 887 217 describes a support structure of a motor vehicle roof. This structure comprises two longitudinal stretchers and a roof central cross member which extends transversely from one stretcher to the other. The central cross member has, on the one hand, a first support portion which extends substantially horizontally at a first height below the stretcher, and secondly, at each end of the first support portion, seconds uplink portions of which the first low end extends the first portion and the second upper end forms a bracket which extends substantially horizontally at a second height, distinct from the first height, each bracket being welded at the level of an upper face of the stretchers. The document FR 2 739 061 describes an open roof vehicle roof structure. This structure comprises an outer roof plate, which has a stop for a sliding roof mobile panel. A windshield is attached to this sheet. Under the sheet, are fixed a cross windshield bay and a reinforcing cross member belonging to a reinforcing frame of the sunroof. The cross member of the reinforcing frame is substantially entirely superimposed on the crossbeam and disposed between the latter and the roof plate. The borestrough has a trunking shape in which is housed most of the width of the cross beam of the sunroof frame. The object of the present invention is to provide a single roof cross member, which allows to maintain the shape of the vehicle regardless of the roof option. Another object of the present invention is to provide a roof cross member adapted to the different vehicle roof options, which is of simple design, which is easy to achieve, which allows a weight gain compared to a normal normal roof crossbar and that is economical. To achieve these aims, the present invention relates to a roof cross member adapted to different roof configurations of the vehicle, namely suitable for a normal roof vehicle like an optional roof type vehicle with conventional sunroof or panoramic glass roof . This new cross, directed in the transverse direction of the vehicle, has a structure consisting of two parts in the longitudinal direction of the vehicle: - a first portion in the form of a normal roof crossbar, which comprises a sidewall below the roof and a normal roof step to allow the normal roof outcrop, and - a second part formed by an optional roof step, which is integrated into said first part and whose height is determined to obtain a flush position of the roof optional when the latter is fixed on the cross member, so that said cross member keeps the shape plan of the motor vehicle with all the roof configuration options. According to a first embodiment of the invention, the optional roof step extends towards the rear of the vehicle the normal roof step of said first cross section.
According to a second embodiment of the invention, the optional roof step is located between the lower side and the normal roof step. In the case of a normal roof, it is fixed by a line of glue on the normal roof step, and in the case of an optional roof, it is fixed by a line of glue on the optional roof step . The width of the normal or optional roof step is equivalent to the width of the line of glue and the stops 10 of wedging. Preferably, the cross member of the invention consists of a one-piece piece obtained by a single shaping operation. Preferably, the cross member of the invention is made of steel. The present invention also relates to a motor vehicle which comprises a roof cross member conform to that described above in outline. Other objects, advantages and features of the invention will become apparent from the following description of two embodiments, not limiting the object and scope of the present patent application, accompanied by drawings in which: FIG. 1 is a schematic longitudinal sectional view of a roof crossmember used exclusively for a normal roof, according to the prior art; FIG. 2 is a schematic longitudinal sectional view of a roof crossmember; used exclusively for a glazed panoramic roof, according to the prior art, - Figure 3 is a schematic longitudinal sectional view of a roof crossmember used exclusively for a sunroof, according to the prior art also, 35 - FIG. 4 is a schematic longitudinal sectional view of a roof crossmember according to the present invention adapted to different roof options of a motor vehicle; FIGS. 5A and 5B are views of above and below, respectively, of the roof beam of Figure 4, and - Figure 6 is a longitudinal sectional view, schematic, of an alternative embodiment of the roof cross member according to the invention of Figure 4 Referring to the drawing of Figure 1, there is shown a roof cross TN whose shape is defined to bring the roof of a normal roof N to the vehicle shape plane. The reference c designates a line of glue connecting the roof to a step or technical part of the cross TN.
This cross TN of Figure 1, by its shape, is no longer compatible if it is used as such in the context of an optional sunroof or panoramic roof glazed the addition of the technical dimensions then having the effect of causing a defect of outcropping of the shape plan of the vehicle. To avoid this outcropping, the technical solution currently implemented is to diversify the roof crosspieces according to the chosen roof option, therefore to create a specific roof cross member to support a normal roof, another cross flag, different, specific to the support of a panoramic glass roof and a roof crossmember exclusively adapted to the support of a sunroof. The general structure of a roof crosshead specific to the support of a panoramic roof referenced C, according to the prior art, is shown schematically in the drawing of FIG. 2, said specific crossbar being designated by the reference TC and including in its structure a part identical to the crosspiece TN of Figure 1 and also designated TN in the drawing of Figure 2.
The general structure of a roof crossmember used exclusively for a conventional sunroof referenced 0, according to the prior art, is shown schematically in the drawing of FIG. 3, said specific cross member being designated by the reference TO and including in its structure a part identical to the cross TN of Figure 1 and also designated TN in the drawing of Figure 3. The principle of the present invention is to provide a single roof cross, which allows to maintain the shape of the vehicle with all roof options: normal roof N or optional roof type 0 opening or panoramic glazed C. The structure of the roof crosshead that meets this principle is shown in the drawing of Figure 4. The cross of the invention , referenced 10 generally, has a structure consisting of two parts in the longitudinal direction X of the vehicle: - a first part having the shape of a normal roof transom TN, which comprises a sidewall 11 below the roof and a normal roof step 12 to allow the normal roof N to be flush, and a second part 13 formed by a step of optional roof, which is integrated in said first part and the height h is determined to obtain a flush position of the optional roof 0 when the latter is fixed on the crossbar 10, so that said crosspiece 10 can maintain the plane of Motor vehicle shape with all roof configuration options.
The optional roof step 13 extends toward the rear of the vehicle the normal roof step 12 of said first portion of the cross member 10. In the case of a normal roof N, the latter is fixed by a dash of glue (not shown in FIG. 4) on the normal roof step 12.
In the case of an optional roof, for example of a sunroof 0, the latter is fixed by a dash of glue c on the optional roof step 13. The width of the normal roof step 12 and the width of the optional roof step 13 are equivalent to the width of the adhesive line c and the stop abutments. The reference 14 designates the hometown normal roof above the sleeper of the invention.
The crosspiece 10 consists of a single-piece piece made of steel obtained by a single shaping operation. FIGS. 5A and 5B are top and bottom views, respectively, of the roof crossmember 10 of FIG. 4, in which the reference 20 designates the windshield, the reference 30 the sunroof glass and 0 the roof opening. Referring to Figure 6, there is shown, also schematically, an alternative embodiment of the roof crosspiece 10 of Figure 4.
The parts and part parts of FIG. 6 which are identical to those of FIG. 4 are designated by the same reference numerals. The crosshead of FIG. 6, of general reference 10 ', comprises an optional roof step 13, which is located between the sidewall 11 below and the normal roof step 12. Consequently, in this variant, the technical part associated with the optional roof 13 does not extend towards the rear of the vehicle the technical part TN associated with the normal roof, but is integrated to the left in the crossbar, therefore between the two sections TN1 and TN2 of the normal roof cross section TN. The normal roof step 12 is then in the rear side portion of the cross member 10 '. The present invention also relates to a motor vehicle, which comprises a roof cross member according to that described above in one or other of its embodiments.
The roof transom of the invention, which is a single transom whatever the roof option, has many advantages, among which the following advantages: it saves space at the edge of the line of manufacture of the chain of car manufacturing, it is economical, because requiring only one stamping operation and, therefore, allowing the gain of a forming tool, it is also economical because it is produced in greater numbers because from its application without modification to the different roof versions. Of course, the present invention is not limited to the embodiments described and represented above by way of examples; other embodiments may be devised by those skilled in the art without departing from the scope and scope of the present invention.
