Abstract

The protector is in the form of a sleeve (3) shaped to fit over the end of a single or double gun barrel (1), including any projections such as foresights (4). The fitting is quick and temporary, with the sleeve able to carry identification or publicity material. The sleeve can be made in a variety of shapes, such as a tube with a closed end, two half shells, or a single panel of a woven or non-woven textile material, with self-adhesive edges, e.g. of Velcro (RTM), to fasten it in place.
