Description

The present invention relates to a rifle sling, in particular a rifle for armed forces.

The applicant of the present application has been selling rifle straps for armed forces for many years.

Such a strap is usually attached at its ends to a rifle, for example an assault rifle, which allows the weapon to be worn around the neck when traveling or patrolling and avoids having to carry the weapon with both hands . It facilitates change between patrol positions and firing positions.

The straps of the depositor are distinguished by the fact of comprising in a portion of sheath an elastic whose function is to cushion the shocks with each step during a displacement and thus relieve the muscles of the neck.

Since the barrel of the weapon heats up during firing, especially for repeated firing, it is important to take into account this heating for the gun end of the gun.

An example of a rifle sling taking into account this warm-up is known from the document US 2004/0200866 A1 .

It could be planned to fix the attachment of the strap away from the barrel, but in this case, the wearing of the weapon would be unbalanced and serve the fighter.

Another solution is to achieve this end by a metal hook which is introduced into a ring secured to the gun at the barrel.

Despite the fact that this solution is effectively insensitive to heating, the clash between the ring and the hook can produce rattling which would identify the fighter and place him in a perilous situation.

In addition, some hooks can in extreme situations exert a leverage on the ring, which can deform the ring and then prevent the recess of the weapon, which can also be a problem, especially in case of injury to fighter.

In addition, assault rifles are increasingly equipped at the level of the barrel of sighting instruments, laser or other whose operation can be altered if there are clashes with a metal hook.

The figure 1 shows a known solution of the state of the art developed by the present applicant.

There is a ramp 1 of a rifle having a first fastening strap 3 to be attached to a first end of a rifle not shown, the shoulder stock.

This fastening strap 3 is received in a first adjustment loop 5, for example made of plastic, preferably black in color and having for example a friction stop to ensure the attachment of the strap 3 when the latter is passed around the 'stopped.

The adjustment loop 5 is fixed to an intermediate portion 7. This portion 7 comprises an envelope filled with preferably flat padding and is intended to be worn around the neck by the fighter. Its width and length are determined to ensure the best comfort.
This intermediate portion 7 is connected to a sheath 9 with elastic tensioner.
A second adjustment loop 11 receives a strap portion 13 of the sheath 9.
This adjustment strap 13 has at its free end a transverse gripping band 15, for example hooks and loops. This allows to wind up the excess strap 13 and to attach it neatly by tape 15 simply by folding as shown on the figure 1 .

Finally, the other end 17 of the sheath 9, the end of attachment to the barrel, comprises a halyard attachment 19 for the rifle barrel preferably made of a flame retardant material to withstand the heating of the barrel.

This halyard attachment 19 must be introduced into a metal ring located at the barrel, then we must make a knot to secure.

This solution solves the problems mentioned above, in particular the noise problems mentioned above and thus ensures better safety of the fighter.

However, after each service or shooting session, the weapons must be cleaned to ensure their proper functioning and this is done more and more in automatic cleaning machines. For this purpose, it is necessary to detach the strap from the rifle and it is necessary to undo the knot for cleaning. Then, after the cleaning of the weapon, we must redo the knot to re-attach the strap to the weapon, which can be tedious for the person in charge of cleaning weapons, especially when there is a number high weapons to clean.

The present invention aims to provide a rifle sling with improved attachment of the sling to the barrel.

On the Figures 2 to 4 only the end 17 of attachment of the strap 1 to the barrel of a rifle, in particular of an assault rifle, has been represented, according to various positions which will be detailed below. The rest of the shoulder strap 1, in particular the sheath 9, the intermediate portion 7 and the strap 3, can be made in accordance with the figure 1 so that these features are not described again.

On the Figures 2 to 4 , we see that the strap 1 has at its end 17 an end strap 21 provided with a fastener 23 to the barrel of the rifle made of a fireproof material.

As we see on the figure 2 this fastener 23 comprises, on the one hand, a closed loop of a fire-retardant halyard 25 and, on the other hand, a metal hook 27 with a closure.

As seen in the figure, the halyard 25 is sewn at its ends to the strap 21 thus forming a closed loop.

According to a first variant not shown, it is possible for the ends of the halyard 25 to be joined by a fixing means, for example a clip, and for the halyard 25 to pass through an end loop of the strap 21.

According to a second variant represented on the figure 5 the halyard 25 may be looped together and passed through an end loop of the strap 21 so that part of the loop of the halyard 25 protrudes from each side of the end loop of the strap 21, forming thus two loops 28 and can thus be hooked by said two loops 28 to the metal hook 27.

As seen in the figures, the halyard 25 and the metal hook 27 are integral with the end strap 21 so that the closed loop of the halyard 25 attached to the metal hook forms a gun barrel attachment.

The hook 27 is a closing hook, that is to say that it comprises for example a tongue biased elastically, for example by a spring, towards one end of the hook thus forming a closed loop. Thus, once hooked, the halyard 25 can no longer detach.

Advantageously, a flat hook is used (see figure 2 ) This reduces the clutter and possible risks of snagging and injury, especially when the fighter has to throw himself on the ground or advance in uncertain terrain by crawling.

In addition, the hook 27 is fixed to the strap 21 at a location remote from the free end of the strap 21 so that its rear face is completely in contact with the strap 21. Thus, the hook 27 can not rub against the weapon, in particular against rails usually attached to the weapon to carry accessories for example sighting, laser or other, since the strap 21 also plays the role of an intermediate protection. Indeed, these rails are expensive specific parts, generally in which a damage costs quite expensive.

This hook 27 makes it possible to quickly remove the ramp from the rifle, for example for the purpose of cleaning the weapon.

This provides a secure and effective fastener.

The strap 21 further comprises a sleeve 29 for camouflaging the metal hook 27. The sleeve 29 can be made as an additional piece (as shown in the figures) or be made in one piece with the sheath 9.
The camouflage sheath 29 avoids any possible reflection on the metal hook 27, in particular, if the metal is exposed by a large use.

In addition, it also prevents the hook 27 from rubbing against the weapon, in particular against rails usually attached to the weapon to carry accessories such as sighting, laser or other, and also plays a second role, the protection.
Not only is the halyard 25 flame retardant, but also the strap 21 and the camouflage sheath 29 are made of flame retardant fabric.

Claims (8)

1. Rifle sling (1) able to be fixed to the ends of a rifle, in particular an assault rifle, comprising an end strap (21) provided with an attachment (23) to the barrel of the rifle, which attachment is made of a fireproof material, characterized in that the attachment (23) comprises, on the one hand, a closed loop of a fireproof rope (25) and, on the other hand, a metal closure hook (27), the rope (25) and the metal hook (27) being secured to the end strap in such a way that the closed loop of the rope (25) fastened to the metal hook (27) forms a rifle barrel attachment.
2. Sling according to Claim 1, characterized in that the rope (25) is stitched by its ends to the end strap (21), thus forming a closed loop.
3. Sling according to Claim 1, characterized in that the ends of the rope are joined by a fixing means, and in that the rope passes through an end loop of the end strap.
4. Sling according to Claim 1, characterized in that the rope is joined to form a loop and passes through an end loop of the end strap while forming two eyes (28) and is fastened by the said two eyes (28) to the metal hook.
5. Sling according to any one of the preceding claims, characterized in that the strap (21) additionally comprises a sleeve (29) for camouflaging the metal hook (27).
6. Sling according to Claim 5, characterized in that the end strap (21) and the camouflage sleeve (29) are made of fireproof fabric.
7. Sling according to any one of the preceding claims, characterized in that the metal closure hook (27) is a flat hook.
8. Sling according to any one of the preceding claims, characterized in that it comprises at least one sheath (9) and also an elastic tensioner fixed inside the said sheath (9).
