Abstract

The carrying sling (2) is attached to the barrel and butt of the gun by fixings (4,6). At least one of the fixings is in the form of a sleeve (8,18) of an elasticated material which fits over the appropriate part of the gun. The sleeve is lined with a layer of a non-slip material to hold it in place on the gun. The other fixing is in the form of an open ring with its two ends joined together by a rigid oval ring (22). It is also made from an elasticated fabric and has one or more pouches on its outer surface.

Claims

1. Rifle strap, comprising a flexible elongated strip (2), a first fixing member (4) connected to the strip and intended to fix the strap in the vicinity of a barrel of a rifle, and a second fixing member (6) connected to the strip and intended to fix the strap in the vicinity of a rifle butt, characterized in that at least one of the fixing members comprises a sleeve (8, 18) comprising a layer of elastic fabric (12, 20) and dimensions adapted so that the sleeve is threaded over a part of the rifle and clamps this part, the fixing member further comprising means (10, 22) for locking in translation of the sleeve along this part-of the rifle.

Rifle strap according to claim 1, characterized in that the first fixing member (4) comprises a sleeve comprising a layer (10) of flexible non-slip material constituting an internal face of the sleeve and a layer (12) of elastic fabric surrounding the latter, the sleeve having dimensions adapted so that the sleeve is threaded onto a tube (14) of the rifle and clamps this tube.

Rifle strap according to claim 1 or 2, characterized in that the second fixing member comprises a sleeve comprising a layer (20) of elastic fabric and having dimensions suitable for the sleeve to be threaded onto the butt (24) of the rifle and grips the butt, the sleeve having a day extending along the thickness of the sleeve.

Rifle strap according to any one of claims 1 to 5, characterized in that the or each sleeve fixing member further comprises a strap (30) fixed to the sleeve by forming a closed loop and generally extending in a plane perpendicular to an axis of the sleeve, and an attachment device (32) slidably engaged on the strap and connected to the flexible strip (2).

Rifle strap according to any one of claims 1 to 6, characterized in that a first end section (44) of the strip carries a passer (42) engaged to slide on another section (50) of the strip forming a loop, one of the fixing members (6) being slidably engaged on this loop, a second end section (52) of the strip opposite the loop carrying the other fixing member (4 ), the strip having a bead adapted to block the passer-by (42) when the strip is stretched between the two fixing members and to be able to pass through the passer-by otherwise.

8. Rifle strap according to claim 7, characterized in that the bead is disposed on the second end section (52) in the vicinity of the associated fixing member (4).

9. Rifle strap according to claim 8, characterized in that, on the second end section (52), the strip is engaged in the associated fixing member (4), folded and fixed on itself in two strip thicknesses, an insert (54) extending between the two strip thicknesses.

10. Rifle strap according to any one of claims 1 to 9, characterized in that it is a pump rifle strap.
