Abstract

The clamp arrangement multiplies the power applied by a mechanical transmission to effect clamping on a machine tool. It can also be used to determine resistive strength of materials and for moulding applications. The clamp comprises a casing (1) in which a moving support (2) is mounted which can rotate when a tangential screw (6) is rotated. This support comprises two side checks (2-1, 2-2) connected together at the end by a support ring (24). The casing is open at the base in order that a slot formed by shoulders (26) can engage a T shaped anchor (25) on a support block (32). The block has a vertical orifice through which a fixing screw (28) can pass to engage a T shaped nut . (29) in the machine tool table (T).
