Abstract

The clamp is characterised by the combination of a rod (1), in square section steel tube, on to which slides, longitudinally, a head (2) and a block (3), which are also produced from square section steel tube. The head consists of a rotating handle (8), which is extended by a threaded rod (9), which screws into a threaded socket (10), which is fixed to one of the extremities of the rod (1). The block is locked in the required position by means of a pin (12), which fits through the holes provided along the length of the rod and in the block. The head and the block are both equipped with threaded bosses (6), which are designed to receive a moveable jaw, which is held in place by a screw (5). The bosses are designed so that the bearing surface for the jaws is situated above the rod, so that the pieces to be clamped (7), rest entirely on the rod, which forms the base surface.
