Abstract
The solid body is of rotational shape and is connected to an aircraft by a tow line. It consists of individual segments (6-8) of radial and/or axial configuration. The individual segments are releasably connected and associated so as to be held together by face-side caps (11, 12) and a tow element in between. A controllable enclosing device (20) is allocated to the latter. A sensor is coupled to the front cap and the enclosing device is controllable via an electric tripping switch which is actuated in dependence on the tensile stress of the tow line. The segments are connectable in the longitudinal direction by annular sleeves (4, 5) while being connectable in the peripheral direction by a nut and spring arrangement. Each longitudinal section is formed by identical segments. The design ensures that the ground crews will not be endangered if the target crashes down.
