Abstract

367,553. L i n e-carrying rockets. SCHERMULY, C., Spra Works, Worcester Park, Surrey. Feb. 14, 1931, No. 4648. [Class 9 (ii).] Two or more individual rockets 1, 2, 3 are attached to a single metal stick 4, to which a life-line is attached, and means are provided to ignite all the rockets simultaneously. As shown, three rockets are arranged around the stick ; the front ends of the rockets are attached to a piece 5 having a central boss 5a secured to the stick 4, and the bodies of the rockets are fastened against blocks 8, 9 on the stick by bands 6, 7. These bands are insulated from the rocket casings and from the blocks 8, 9 and are connected by leads to electric fuses in the rockets. A launching trough 12 for this combination rocket is fitted with insulated spring contacts 13, 14 adapted to make contact with the bands 6, 7 and connected by leads 6b, 7b to a suitable source of electricity through a suitable switch. The trough is also provided with a clamping device 17 for attachment to any suitable support 18. Specification 12148/08, [Class 9, Ammunition &c.], is referred to.
