Abstract

The log splitter is mounted on a fork-lift truck so that it can travel up or down on the lift. The splitter consists of a hydraulically operated wedge (21) which rests on the end of the log when it is in the vertical position. Two knives are mounted in a frame below the plate (21) and are pivoted at the end of the arm (15) about the fulcrum (4). The knives move in from both sides of the log to split the wood.
