Abstract

The mechanism moves sideways the forks of a forklift truck or other load handling machine. It has an actuator on the horizontal axis of the fork support plate and detachably secured to the plate. A rectangular frame forms the sliding plate carrying the forks, and surrounds the actuator, which is coupled to it. It travels on rails by means of shoes of anti-friction material. The actuator can be a hydraulic ram, with top and bottom mounting feet, one with a hook fitting over a top edge of a part of the truck, while the other has locking screws bearing against a lower edge.
