Abstract

1431988 Platform elevators J TRANCHERO 25 May 1973 25088/73 Heading B8H A platform elevator comprises a wheeled base with a pair of upstanding supports 5 to which pairs of levers 8, 15 are pivotally mounted to pivotally support a lever 18 acted upon by an hydraulic actuator 7 pivotally mounted to the base. A further lever 20 is pivotally connected at 19 to the lever 18 and is also pivotally connected to a tie-bar 22 coupled to the lever 16. A further lever 28 is pivotally connected at 29 to the lever 20 and is also pivotally connected to a tie rod 25 coupled to the lever 18. A bell crank 31 is pivotally connected to the lever 28 and to a tie-bar 32, connected to the lever 20, and forms with two pairs of levers 37, 38, pivotally connected thereto, and a further bell crank 41 a first parallelogram pivotable by an hydraulic actuator 50. A further two pairs of levers 44, 45 are connected to the bell crank 41 and together therewith and with a bracket 48 form a second parallelogram pivotally movable by an hydraulic actuator 54. A platform or cage is mounted on the bracket and remains substantially horizontal during the lifting and lowering thereof. In a modification of the elevator (Fig. 4) not shown the bell crank 31 is connected directly to the lever 18 and the tiebar 22.
