Abstract

L'invention a trait au domaine de la chimie des colorants. Elle concerne un procédé de production de colorants azoïques dispersés portant un radical cyano en ortho par rapport au groupe azo, par réaction du colorant halogéné correspondant avec un nitrile non métallique covalent en présence d'un catalyseur au cuivre et d'un accepteur d'acide. Les procédés connus utilisaient un cyanure métallique comme source de radical cyano. Le procédé de l'invention préconise, quant à lui, d'utiliser un nitrile non métallique même en petites quantités en association avec un cyanure métallique en raison des avantages offerts par une consommation réduite du cuivre. Le nitrile non métallique est de préférence une cyanhydrine qui peut être préparée in situ par réaction d'un aldéhyde ou d'une cétone avec un cyanure de métal. Ce dernier peut lui-même constituer le catalyseur au cuivre.
