Abstract

A pipeline for transporting liquids (11) at high pressures consists of three concentric pipes (10, 15, 16). The inner pipe (10) is made of reinforced plastics metal, or glass and is strong enough to withstand the pressure of the liquid. The pipe (15) is made from a deformable but shock resisting material such as PVC with a mixture of ABS and is held concentric with the inner pipe (10) by a series of rubber O rings. The outer pipe (16) is made of a thermosetting plastic such as polyurethane and absorbs any external shocks.
