Abstract

1,161,664. Joint-making packing; pipe joints. R. D. C. BAXTER. 2 Nov., 1966 [19 Jan., 1966], No. 2473/66. Headings F2B and F2G. An inflatable ring 10 for sealing drain pipes under test comprises inner and outer cylindrical pipe-engaging walls connected by curved end walls, and an inlet tube 15 fitted with a releasable non-return valve connected to one of the end walls. The ring may be made of reinforced rubber or pliable plastics and the pipe-engaging walls provided with gripping treads. If desired, the end walls may be thickened.
