Abstract

The float is moulded in thermoplastic material in two half spheres which are joined by adhesive or welding under pressure. Each half is moulded on a metal tube which provides a through bore. The halves are of cellular construction with strengthening ribs (d) to resist implosion in deep sea. The metal tubes strengthen the float and give resistance to abrasion by the trawl rope which passes through it.
