Abstract

Dans ce procédé de cémentation gazeuse des pièces en acier dans un four, qui est du type comportant une phase initiale dans laquelle on dissout dans la surface des pièces une quantité de carbone supérieure à la quantité finale désirée, tandis que, dans la phase finale, on ramène le taux de carbone à la valeur marginale désirée au moyen d'un gaz décarburant dont on règle le débit, l'opération de décarburation partielle s'effectue en introduisant dans la chambre du four exclusivement un gaz décarburant exempt d'hydrogène et contenant de l'oxygène, par exemple de l'air.
