Abstract

Procédé pour l'affinage de fer ou d'aciers. Selon l'invention, un bain de fer et d'acier est affiné en ajoutant audit bain fondu une enveloppe composite comprimée et déformée, obtenue en recouvrant un matériau de noyau fait d'au moins un élément choisi parmi le calcium métallique, le magnésium métallique, les alliages de calcium et les alliages de magnésium, par une gaine de fer, à une vitesse de charge de 20 à 500 m/mn, grâce à quoi on obtient une désoxydation, une désulfuration et une sphéroïdisation du graphite efficaces. Amélioration des propriétés physiques des aciers ainsi affinés.
