Abstract

The box is quickly erected from a rectangular blank of cardboard (1), with pairs of parallel fold lines (a, b) enclosing a rectangular base. Opposite side flaps (4, 5) can be bent upwards at right angles to the base to form the walls. In the flat condition, one pair (4) lie in the same plane as the base (3), while the other (5) are folded over onto it. The ends of the latter pair have lugs (6), and glued areas are provided on these lugs and on the ends of the flaps (4) in the plane of the base, so that they can be joined together on erection. Each lug can be divided into two triangular sections by a diagonal line between the corner of the base and of the cardboard blank, so as to stick together when folded.
