L'invention concerne un moteur à combustion interne à piston, à suralimentation par turbocompresseur à gaz d'échappement, et son procédé de fonctionnement Un tel moteur comporte un dispositif d'étranglement et/ou de fermeture dans le tronçon de canalisation entre la chambre de combustion et l'extrémité de la canalisation d'échappement et une canalisation de retour pouvant être de préférence étranglée et fermée, partant du tronçon de canalisation entre la chambre de combustion et ce dispositif et débouchant dans la canalisation d'air de suralimentation. Application : moteurs et machines à combustion interne à piston équipés d'un turbocompresseur à gaz d'échappement.
