Abstract

Lock for loading door of washing and spinning machine comprises a bimetal switch mounted on the door frame, and a hand-actuated spring-loaded latch mounted on the door. The latch lock engages a lock plate of the door frame, and when the machine drum is moving, a lock of the bimetal switch prevents release of the lock. When the door is closed and the latch released, the lock is spring-biassed into an opening in the lock plate, with a hook engaging behind the plate. The lock has a recess in which is inserted the lock of the bimetal switch when heated. The lock of the switch is inserted in the recess to prevent release before engagement between hook and lock plate.
