Abstract

The shutter stop (1) comprises a slidable and pivotable 'L' shaped lever of round section bar, is mounted solely on the shutter (S), and is deployed to hold the shutter in the open position. The lever slides within limits with the inner leg (3) guided by holes in the legs of a 'U' section mounting plate. When fully extracted and pivoted the outer leg (2) bears on the edge (E) of the window opening to lock the shutter (S) in the open position. Sliding may be limited by a stop-screw on the inner leg (3) and the mechanism may be concealed by a 'U' section housing (H). The stop (1) may act without any hook or coupling mounted in the window opening (E), and its action may not be impaired by deformation of the shutter (S).
