Abstract
The collector has a rectangular casing (A) of thermally insulating material. It has an absorbent internal surface (K) at the bottom and a perforated absorbent surface (J) at the top. The top is closed above this surface by three layers (E, F, G) of transparent material with thermally insulating voids between them. Part of the incident radiation is absorbed by the perforated plate (J) and part passes through to be absorbed by the bottom plate (K). Air circulated between the two plates and is heated by direct contact with them. The collector has openings (C) in its sides through which the air flows in and out. Several collectors can be joined together with these openings mating together to form one larger collector.
