Abstract
The solar radiation collector has an outer plate (5) which forms the radiation absorbing surface and a back plate (7) which leaves a space (6) between itself and the front plate for the circulation of water to be heated. The back of the collector is well insulated (8). On top of the absorption surface (5) there is a layer (4) of a temperature sensitive material in front of which there is a glass plate (2) leaving an air gap (3) between itself and the temperature sensitive layer. This layer is of an absorbing colour at low temperatures and changes to a colour which is less absorbing and more reflecting when the temperature reaches the maximum permissible level. This prevents overheating at times of low hot water demand.
