Abstract

The tool holder incorporates a ball-type overload clutch, distinguished by a pressure disc (40) which slides axially relative to the cage (31). The pressure disc has an inclined bearing face (39) in contact with the bearings (35). A spring arrangement (42) presses the pressure disc (40) against the bearings, the spring pressures being adjustable through a screw arrangement (41). Axial grooves (36) for the bearings are formed into the outer face of a collar on the torque transmitting member (24). The cage (31) abuts against the collar and has on its outer face a shoulder which lies opposite a flange on the cylindrical outer shell (37). This shell is fitted onto the cage (31), covers the pressure disc (40) and holds the screw arrangement.
