Abstract

The mechanism is for use on two-wheeled motor vehicles, and comprises a kickstart incorporating a pawl and ratchet wheel mechanism (3, 4, 7). The pawls can be actuated by a friction spring, and on the kickstart crankshaft (11) there can be a driver member (3) for the pawls (4), which engage with an internally-toothed driven wheel (7). A control sleeve can be fitted between member and wheel, with apertures for insertion and control of the pawls, and supported on the member, rotating in relation to it through an angle limited by stops (6). It can also have an extension portion with a hub, on which the friction spring mounted in the engine housing acts.
