Abstract

The gear change is for multiple stage gearboxes esp. in motor cycles, with a stop to prevent overengagement. The gear change is effected by a shaft operable by an indexed lever system. Teeth on the change unit work in conjunction with driver pins in the control plate of the change shaft. The change unit (3) on its side fitted with teeth (6, 7), has an extension (10) turned away from it. On the extension is a shaped piece (11) at its end, the piece being rectangular in cross-section. Alternatively, it can be trapezoidal, cylindrical or convexly arched.
