Abstract
1,218,317. Ratchet mechanism. HOLZER PATENT A.G. 8 Sept., 1969 [12 Sept., 1968], No. 44287/69. Heading F2Q. A control cam disc 2 of a timing switch gear is driven by two pawls 22, 23 engaging two sets of ratchet teeth 5, 6, the ratchet teeth 5 being of even and relatively small pitch, for rotating the disc forward at equal intervals of time, and the ratchet teeth 6 being spaced apart in accordance with the lengths of time intervals between the individual switchings. The pawls 22, 23 are actuated by eccentrics 13, 14 mounted on a shaft 25 driven from a motor 1 through reduction gearing 17, 18, 19. A locking pawl 31 acts on teeth 5 to prevent back-running. In a modification shown in Fig. 4, pawl 23 has a slot 26 through which shaft 25 passes, and a follower 28 on pawl 23 is urged into engagement with a cam 27 on the shaft 25 by a spring 29.
